The youngest comic to appear as featured talent, Mpho is well on his way to becoming a definite success. His work ethic and ability to see the bigger picture add to his engaging stage presence.
A combination of fresh energy, big talent and smart strategy make Mpho able to take on complex corporate gigs better than most comics his age.
Having said that, it would be wrong to label him as inexperienced, as Mpho has already featured in several television spots and co-produced a film, Triple O, as well as played hundreds of club sets.
Many of our clients have booked well-known acts a few times, and really enjoyed them, but want to know who else is out there. While South African companies are excellent supporters of local comedy, and are keen to show initiative and book new talent, they are nervous that they might do so at the expense of their event. This is a delicate balance, but we are confident to make this recommendation without a second’s hesitation.
If you’re looking for someone new to make your night one to remember, and show support for one of the highest shoots in a young crop – Mpho is the man to book.
What he may seem to lack in stage time, he makes up for in ability, intelligence and an insuppressibly funny outlook. If it’s bright, fresh and quick wit you were looking for – here’s your guy.
Mpho is not afraid to put on a suit and become a formal, suave host, or rock a hoodie and MC your underground event. He is all about the detail, being on time and knowing where he will stand and which way to face.
Popps represents a new generation of talent that takes their comedy very seriously, and is fully prepared to arrive on time, fully briefed and get the job done like a seasoned pro – which is great for him, but does scare some of the other acts who demand their mineral water at a certain temperature and Egyptian cotton with a 400 thread count.
Go ahead and book Mpho, but be warned, he has a punishing schedule over the next few months, with a residency at the Globe Theatre keeping him busy with four shows a week.
