Henry Rollins in 'The Long March' Tour

Humor and outrage; pop culture, political commentary and personal anecdote; healthy skepticism and rugged optimism. This is what you get when you watch counter culture observer, Henry Rollins speak his mind.

From punk band front man to film and television star and prolific author, Rollins is a relentless one-man roller coaster on a global track of current events.
He’s funny, sharp, informative and above all, real… if you haven’t already, book to see him now, he’s been traveling the world, witnessing things so you don’t have to. Strap in and he’ll tell you all about it.

Henry has performed on six continents and in nearly 50 countries, and now he’s coming to three South African cities as part of his “Long March” world tour.

2012 is Henry’s third visit to SA. He’s been touched by the Republic, including images he found here in “Occupants” - his well-received book of visceral full-color photographs — with writings that not only provide context and magnify the impact of the images but also lift them to the level of political commentary.

“Occupants” is dedicated to Afrika Moni, a resident he befriended at the settlement in Hout Bay, called Imizamo Yethu, on his first tour.

Rollins has made South Africa a regular stop on his world tour over the last five years, giving a limited run of shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg for a growing band of fans every 24 months or so. This year, local producer - Whacked:Special Project has decided to include Durban in Henry’s SA tour schedule.
